why bees?

Each year, bees are experiencing massive die-offs in the United States and other countries. Since 1947, the U. S. honeybee population has declined by 60%.

Bees pollinate the majority of the fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts that are important to our diets, from apples to coffee. Honey bees play a significant role in agriculture, adding over $15 billion to the value of crop production in the United States.
